Quality Management in Food Processing Introduction Value addition in the form of food processing is one of the major ways of increasing the shelf – life of food, thus ensuring food security and improved livelihoods. Quality control is crucial when it comes to food processing, since it is important for processors to ensure that they are producing good quality and safe food products for their consumers. Consumers are also becoming more aware about the quality they want from processed food products and for this reason food processors have to adopt techniques that will enable them to meet the growing consumers’ expectations.
