INTRODUCTION

The power of GIS may be harnessed for natural resource management. This can assist in making critical decisions in the management of the earth's resources. COURSE OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Use geo-information and earth observation techniques in support of natural resources management.
  • Acquire practical knowledge and skills needed for the collection, interpretation, and management of spatial information, using remote sensing and geographic information systems, to support planning and decision-making processes in natural resources management.
  • Assess the state of the resource base and the changes that occur and progresses to the assessment of impacts and, finally, societal response.
