Rural Famers in Africa suffer economically because they lack the knowledge, skills and appropriate capital they need to make their farming efficient. With the support that these farmers have been receiving from their respective governments alongside its stakeholders to solve these problems, farmers still experience more challenges because they have no voice in the interventions designed to solve their problems. Farmer organizations have been identified as an institution that gives farmers a fair voice to negotiate for any engagement targeting them. Further, farmers have reaped the benefits of joining groups that include access to output markets, access to input market at low prices and through a check off system and reduced transaction costs such as transport cost while marketing their produce collectively among other benefits. This course is targets various actors working with farmers among them Agricultural extension officers, senior agricultural officials and policy makers, community workers and officers working in development programmes.
